    About

Ever since a young age, Cassiah knew that she would be a writer and director, unable to escape from imagining stories and films in her head.

After graduating from the University of Birmingham in July 2014 with a First Class Honours degree in BA Drama and Theatre Arts, Cassiah began her career working for writer/director/producer Gurinder Chadha OBE after a chance meeting on a train.

Cassiah now works as a writer and director for stage and screen, and is currently represented by SMA Talent.

Cassiah is a screenwriter and playwright based between London and Birmingham in the UK.

Cassiah's original action/adventure series is currently in development with Fremantle Media and Gurinder Chadha's company Bend It TV. She's also working on a feature screenplay commission for Que Vida La Vida Productions, as well as developing a number of other projects. She is also a member of BFI Network X BAFTA Crew and is being mentored by Film London producer Angeli MacFarlane as part of the scheme.

Cassiah's award nominated play 'Under My Thumb' was a finalist for the Red Women Theatre Awards in 2016 and was nominated for 'Best New Play' at the New South Writing Awards 2017. Her new play 'London With A Perfect Skyline'  previewed at Katzpace, London Bridge in March 2019.
